Old New york, Neue New York, Same as always New York. I think this city is timeless, yet it is not stuck in time. New York as a whole will always be the same, but there are many different cities within, and I am not talking about the bouroughs. You have the tourist I <3 NY, the hipster, the high fashion, the gossip girl ues, the theater, the high society, the hood, the business powerhouse, and I could go on forever. Now, I have been there in 3 different ways, the obvious tourist site seeing, family visiting at Long Island and Staten Island, and I dipped my toes unto the fashion district. By dipping my toes I mean I went into fabric stores like “Mood” looking for the perfect material for my coming out party dress, so that may not completely count. I still do not comprehend why I never set foot in the Met or MoMA, or why I never saw a show at the Lincoln Center. I have been dreaming of a New York filled with art, design and new discoveries, I want to buy from tiny boutiques and walk the streets of the village. When I get an idea into my head I just can’t take it away, this longing kept me awake for days. Today (maybe Sandy had something to do with this) I found a huge discount on a plane ticket the exact dates I had my job vacations, direct flight to JFK, I couldn’t resist. Call it fate or give credit to a very good travel agent, but with no plans or a place to stay yet, I’m headed to New York on march!!
